Public Art requires a multidisciplinary skill set, which no one person has. How do modern fabrication techniques aid public art, as well as cause problems? What things should aspiring artists and engineers learn to be successful at making public art?

Learn all this and more as Â鶹´«Ã½’s (CWI) Visiting Artist Series welcomes [2] Friday, April 16, from noon – 1 p.m. via Zoom.

Studio Capacitor is a design/build team at the intersection of art, storytelling, and technology, located in Boise, Idaho. The CWI community is invited to join as Dan Sternof Beyer, Director of Research and Development at Studio Capacitor, gives a brief history of the studio; his own background as a designer, maker, and artist; and discusses how modern fabrication technology plays an important role in contemporary public art.

CWI’s Visiting Artist Series is made possible through a grant from Idaho Commission on the Arts, which is supported by National Endowment for the Arts. Visiting Artist Series workshops, featuring visual and performing artists, are free and open to the entire CWI community.
